Meryl Hewitt-Fourie Meryl is a proud mom and grandmom. I was a pre-school teacher and principal of ECD Center. I played a contributory role in the principals association and teacher unions for the past 33 years. I was elected as global leader to represent South Africa for Early Childhood Development at the World Forum Foundation. My passion is young children, support of families and developing teachers in their skills and approach to teaching.
Pamela Nompucuko Ncapaiis the founder & sole member of Ulutho Skills Facilitators & has a solid background in education and skills development. As a qualified remedial educator and former primary school principal until 1996, Pamela has been involved in the introduction of OBE and Technology Education, as well as the training of educators to implement the new education system for the past eleven years. Acknowledged for her expertise in both literacy and technology education, Pamela has co-authored a series of Technology Education textbooks and a series of Xhosa reading books. She has also attended and addressed national and international conferences and has received a prestigious award for outstanding service. Pamela is the proud mother of 3 daughters
Romy Saitowitz holds a Master’s of Science in Paediatrics and Child Heath (1999). She began her career at the Child Health Policy Institute (now the Children’s Institute) at the University of Cape Town. Ms Saitowitz has extensive professional experience in the field of health policy analysis, programme monitoring and evaluation. For the past 10 years, Ms Saitowitz has been working as a Fundraising and Development Practitioner both in the USA and South Africa. Ms Saitowitz has successfully mobilised resources for health, education and enterprise development nonprofits. Ms Saitowitz is committed to uplifting vulnerable children and their families. In 2005, she founded the PositiveMoms Foundation, a registered nonprofit organisation helping impoverished HIV-positive mothers and their children to obtain life-saving antiretroviral medication. With two young children, Ms Saitowitz currently works from home as an Independent Fundraising Consultant, strengthening the ability of service providers to deliver on their missions and respond to the many urgent needs of the community.
Shuaib Salie Shu-aib Salie has been in the development sector for the last 15 years. A teacher by profession founded a youth organistion in 1995 called Ziphilele youth projects. he has a served as the chaiperson of The Western Cape Youth Skills Development Initiative, a consortium of youth NGO's with the focus on making young people more employable. he worked as the centre manager in Manenberg. He is current;y a tariner of social auxilliary workers and skills tarining for the parent centre.
Fezeka Sikele After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Education Fezeka has been teaching at many faculties and schools around Western Cape. She is the proud mother of 3 boys.
Charmaine Lamont
After obtaining a Bachelor of Social Science (in Industrial Sociology) and Commerce (in Accounts and Tax) from UCT she joined a national Publishing, Marketing and Recruitment company first as an accounts assistant and later became their Financial Manager. After 13 years working for this company, she took the decision recently to start her own accounts, tax and admin business.
